Defibrillators for mosques

Our current project aims to install automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the large mosques across New Zealand, along with providing education to the local imam and frequent attenders on proper use of the defibrillator.

Similar initiatives are underway in other countries such as the United Kingdom (British Islamic Medical Association) and the United States (Islamic Medical Association of North America)

Access to AEDs is a critical component to improve survival in those who suffer cardiac arrest.

Where possible, the AEDs will be placed in a publicly accessible location to benefit the local community around the mosque
