Constitution
The Islamic Medical Association of New Zealand was established in 2024 with the purpose of bringing together all healthcare professionals from across New Zealand
The objectives of IMANZ are:
To foster unity and collaboration among Muslim medical professionals in New Zealand
To promote high standards of medical practice in accordance with the ethical principles of Islam
To facilitate professional development, education, and training opportunities for its members
To provide a platform for discussion on issues of health and well-being in the Muslim community and the wider New Zealand society
To engage with and foster meaningful partnerships with local Iwis and Pasifika communities in the spirit of mutual respect and collaboration
To represent Muslim medical professionals in public and policy discussions relevant to healthcare, ethics, and the well-being of our community
To provide humanitarian medical assistance, both locally and internationally, where needed
To engage in research initiatives that improve healthcare outcomes for Muslims and other communities in New Zealand
To promote medical ethics guided by Islamic principles while adhering to the standards set by New Zealand's medical regulatory frameworks
To facilitate research and education in Islamic medical history, ethics, and contemporary health challenges in New Zealand
